Our Topic: Castles

Our Topic this term is ‘Castles’. In this topic we look at all aspects of medieval life. We will be finding out what castles are, why they were built and learning to name the different parts of the castle. We will be thinking about the people who lived and worked in castles, from Kings and Queens to Knights to peasants! We will also discover more about the weaponry used in those times and how castles could be attacked and defended in a battle. We will be focusing on Portchester Castle in particular and learning about the location of it and how its uses have changed over the years.
