A warm welcome to our website from the staff, Governors, Friends of Calmore Infant School!

We are looking forward to meeting all our new parents and children ready to start our Year R classes in September. If you are a new parent please look out for our letters detailing dates for you and your child to come into school, meet teachers and spend time in the classrooms. There will be special parent information meetings too - do take the opportunity to come along and find out all you need so that your child has a smooth and happy start in our school. It is so important that we work together.

Our school was inspected by Ofsted in September 2014 and is a "good school" with "outstanding" behaviour and safety which we are delighted about.

Our school is a friendly and welcoming 2 form entry Infant school.  The outside play areas for Reception and Year 1 provide learning opportunities outside the classroom and we extend learning through the variety of afterschool or lunchtime clubs.

It is our aim to provide high quality teaching and learning in an environment of care and support. We all want to provide the best possible start to school life for every child. We recognise that each child is unique and that their achievements and progress should be celebrated within our school community.  We want our children to grow in confidence and be able to do their best, persevere and achieve academically and grow socially.

Ofsted September 2014 quotes "Pupils are very proud of their school" "The school benefits from having a team of enthusiastic teachers and well-trained teaching assistants and relationships between adults and pupils are very strong."

Our mascot is Milly the school rocking horse who stands in the entrance hall. For some of our parents Milly is a reminder of their time in the school! We value the support of our parents and we aim to work in partnership to achieve the best from the children at our school. The school is fortunate to have a very active Friends Association to help raise money for different resources in school. We also have the Caterpillar Pre- school on site.

We are proud of our school and our children’s achievements and we hope you enjoy looking through our website, and finding out about us. If you have any queries or if you wish to visit please contact the school office and we will be happy to help.
